Nest doesn't work since installing a Chromecast on my TV

I've been using my Nest with no issues for ages and could just ask it to play songs etc without a problem.

I just added a Chromecast to my TV as it was the only way to stream from a Pixel and now when I ask my Nest to play something it just says "I don't understand". It seems to think everything should go through my TV. But I don't want to have to cast or have my TV on everytime I want to listen to music. 

Has anyone else had this and knows how to fix it? Please help.

If you're still having trouble setting up your Nest speaker, please give these steps a try:

 

  • Reboot your speaker
  • Reboot your router
  • Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router.
  • Reset your Nest speaker
