Nest hub giving warning before sunset alarm

Helenfen
Community Member

Hi there! Hoping for some advice from the brains trust. I recently bought the nest hub gen 2, to use primarily as an alarm clock in the bedroom (trying to limit how often/ early im on my phone). I was drawn to use the hub for the sunset alarm, which is a lovely gentle way to wake up. However, at the moment 15 mins prior to my alarm sounding/ the sunset starting, i am getting a bright blue screen reminding me the alarm is due in 15, with the option to dismiss or continue to the sunset alarm. This defeats the purpose as im woken by the blue light! Hoping for some help getting rid of this. Have tried the usual settings. Thanks!

Hi Helenfen,

Thanks for reaching out.

I appreciate your honest feedaback. Could you please send us a photo of the exact display you're getting (blue screen) so we can check further what's happening? Also, let's recreate this routine and compare if you will also get the same display.

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Routines and then Add near the bottom of the screen.
  3. Under “How to start,” tap Add starter and then choose the trigger you want for your Routine.
    • Voice command: Add the voice commands that you want to use for your Routine.
    • (Optional) Time: Have your Routine activate at a specific time.
    • (Optional) Sunrise/Sunset: Choose whether to have your Routine activate at sunrise or sunset.
    • (Optional) Dismiss an alarm: Automatically start your Routine when you dismiss an alarm on your speaker or display.
  4. Under “This Routine will,” tap Add action and then choose a routine category and then choose an action and then tap Done.
  5. Tap Save.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess
