Hello,
I can't connect my Google Nest mini gen 2 speaker to the router ZTE F6600R. But I can connect to the speaker via hotspot from a second phone. So both the speaker and the router are functional, but not compatible.
Google Home (the app on the phone) informs me that it cannot set Wi-Fi on the speaker due to a connection error, without any code. Sometimes it says it can't connect because it's the wrong wi-fi password (even though it's the correct password).
How can I solve and connect the speaker to wifi?
Thanks

Hi Costac,
Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community. It’s likely a setting on your router that prevents your Google Nest Mini from connecting to your Wi-Fi. You can check out the Advanced troubleshooting steps here. If you’re not familiar with the configuration of your router, I suggest that you contact the router manufacturer for assistance.
Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your answer.
I managed to solve my issue by starting UPnP and setting a lower security level password on router.

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately Google is setting low standards for Nest and Chromecast and they have these issues with newer and more secure routers.
Thanks anyhow.

Thanks!
In fact, now I am struggling to connect my Yamaha receiver RX-V6A to Google Home app (and Google Nest Mini). Google Home app is not finding the receiver even when I am using Yamaha Music Cast set to connect to Google assistant.
It doesn't work!

Hello again,
Are you trying to add the Yamaha receiver RX-V6A to the Google Home app, or is it already added but can’t be controlled?
Kind regards,
Alex

No, I don't manage to connect Yamaha RX-V6A to Google Home.

It can be connected only with a Chromecast in Yamaha. But it doesn't have all functions.

Hey there,
Have you tried the suggested set-up steps from Yamaha’s page? If the suggestions there didn’t work, it’s best to check with Yamaha support how you can connect it to Google Assistant, as we have limited troubleshooting steps for third-party Google Assistant-enabled devices.
Sincerely,
Alex

Thanks Alex_s ! I managed to connect RX-V6A to Google Home. But I can order to Google Nest Mini only to turn on or off Yamaha! Google Nest answer it can not play music on Yamaha...🤦

Hello there,
It’s good to know that your Yamaha RX-V6A is now connected to Google Home. Looking at the commands Yamaha supports, asking it to play a specific song isn’t supported. It can only control the power, play/pause/stop, volume control, mute/unmute, and skip/repeat.
Best regards,
Alex
