Nest mini lighting commands

Millaax

Every time I saw “hey google, turn on the kitchen lights”, I get a message that’s there’s a glitch and to retry in a few seconds. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the lights from Google home and am able to control through the app, but voice commands for the lights do not work. Music, timers, etc. all work fine - no WiFi/network issues. Please advise.

Hi Millaax,

This is not the experience we want you to have; let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers and smart lights are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers, then your smart lights.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Also, unlink the smart lights from their native app and redo the setup. Make sure all your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, under the same account, if required.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan
