Nest mini not finding the new network

Hello, my google nest mini was inherited from a friend who passed away.  For context this nest mini can find its previous network.  However, when attempting to connect to my network it is unable to communicate with my android google home app.  Is there any support for this?  I did think to bring the nest mini back to my friends place and successfully(?) forget the previous network.  But I am still at a loss with connectivity here.  Any advice?

It's good you already removed the Nest Mini from the previous network/account. It looks like you might need to do a factory reset on your Nest Mini:
