Nest speakers can't turn on devices

Kiko85

Hello, hope you can help as I have tried everything I could think of.

I have 3 nest speakers (one is mini) and when I ask who I am in all 3 answers the same. I have checked the wifi and all 3 are connected to the same. I only have one account.

The issue is when I ask to turn on a device only in one speaker works. The other 2 answers that doesn't understand what I mean. I am not sure how to fix this. I hope I can get some ideas here. Thank you all.

Hi @Kiko85,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that two of your Google Nest speakers are not able to understand the command to turn on a device, while it works in one of them. I'd be happy to help!

To continue investigating the inconvenience, I'd like to ask the following:

  • How far away are the other two speakers from the router?
  • Is this the first time you're experiencing this situation?

In the meantime, I'd suggest trying the following:

  • Try syncing your Nest speakers by using the command 'Sync my speakers.'
  • Another option is to use a more specific command or rename the device that the speakers cannot control. For reference, you can check out this article: Control smart home devices added to the Google Home app.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Hi Jennifer, I just found out that I had 2 languages in Google home assistant settings. I have removed one and it has solved the issue. Thanks very much for the reply and help

Hi @Kiko85,

Thanks for following up! I'm glad to hear that the inconvenience was fixed by checking the two languages added in the Google Assistant settings. I appreciate all the efforts you've been making to resolve this inconvenience.

If you need more assistance in the future, feel free to post again.

Best regards,
