Hello,
I have two nests mini 2 and a Nest hub 2 togheter in a group. But when asking for music it only plays on Nest Hub but not also on the minis from the group. It was working 2 weeks ago.....
Cannot see the group in Nest hub no more....
What is wrong?😪

Speaker groups are completely broken, and they have been for months, especially since the changes concerning the Sonos patents. They screwed other things up, and so I wouldn't expect any changes soon. Google doesn't really seem to be interested in speaker groups
The only way speaker groups work now is if you ask the Hub to play the music, and then ask the Hub to move the music to the speaker group. If you try moving it on a mini, it will not recognise the speaker group, or it will just play the music on the Hub... There are so many errors it is actually difficult to think of the different ways in which it is broken
I just use th app now

Thank you for your answer. I've seen on the web that is some kind of bug....
It was working 10 days ago, when I was asking for a song I could see all the house minis on the nest hub display, change volumes for each one or from google home app, but now is impossible. I have restarted, factory reset and reinstall the hub and
04-17-2022 03:04 AM
Yeah, it's intermittent. It sometimes says that there is no such device, sometimes it says there is... It also seems to think that my Hub is the speaker group, and so doesn't pay to the other minis
You just have to accept that this particular function of the speakers isn't really working right now. You can only wait for an update

An update can solve multiple issues but...it will be a good update? I really like the google home....

If you are so happy to take a closer look please try and solve my issue.
I'm also happy and anxious to have a solution, even you wanted to follow up the problem after 3 weeks from the topic start...

Also the button is gone in home app 🤬🤬🤬
WTF Google??!?!!?

Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused you — let me help you out.
Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router and connected to the same network. They should also be set up in the same room on your Google Home app. Could you try rebooting your speakers or displays and router for 1-2 minutes to refresh the connection? Also, try reinstalling your Google Home app.
Thanks,
Alex

Hey RoniN,
I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should, have you tried the suggested steps above?
This might be related to the update about speaker groups wherein customers will no longer be able to control the volume of all the speakers in a speaker group at the same time. This includes from the Google Home app, on display devices, and using Assistant voice commands (ex. “Change [group name] volume to 50%”). Customers will need to control the volume for each speaker in the group individually.
If after rebooting the device the issue persists, try resetting your devices and rebooting your router as well.
Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Alex

'shuffle my music on x' no longer works, where x is a speaker group. It doesn't think that it exists and asks me to make sure that the device is connected to the internet.
I've reset everything a million times Trust me, it doesn't work. Also, commands for controlling music on Spotify are totally bugged. If I say, 'shuffle my music on Spotify ', it either does nothing, resumes the music from before or plays some random music
It's like... How the heck do you just play shuffled music on all speakers without all of these errors? It's really bad, and Google take a million years to update their software

Hey NestPenguin,
We're sorry for the trouble this has caused you, have you tried deleting your old groups and created a new one? Please check this guide for the supported commands you can use.
Best,
Alex

Yep, and I just tested one of the supported commands, and it says it's fine, but then ask asks if it's connected to the internet and turned on.
Doesn't matter how many times you delete and create them.
How about you create a speaker group, try playing music on that speaker group with the assistant and tell me if it works for you. This is not a problem on my end

Hey NestPenguin,
We appreciate your patience. To isolate, since it's mentioned that it's only happening with the Nest Mini devices, is it also happening when playing music individually?
Best,
Alex

The issue with 'I can't find all speakers' was an issue with all devices, including the Nest Hub Max. It didn't like the name 'all speakers' until I changed it back and forth a few times, deleted the group, etc. Now it works on the Nest Max, but the minis say, 'something went wrong ' and 'I can't find all speakers make sure that the device is turned on and connected to the internet'. It's a speaker group
Playing music on each device, individually, is fine
06-17-2022 11:38 AM
Hey NestPenguin,
Thanks for the additional information. Could you try creating a new home structure and move all your devices to it. Once done, delete the old home that you have.
Let us know if that helps!
Thanks,
Alex

I've deleted my home, added a new one, added all of the speakers and created a group
Now none of the speakers are working. The minis and the Nest Hub say, 'sure, I'll shuffle music from Spotify on all speakers. Sorry I can't find all speakers. Make sure that device is turned on and connected to the internet'

I just created 'speaker group two', where it works on every device in casting to that speaker group, but not on 'all speakers', but now it's saying that I am not allowed to manage the group', so I can't rename it nor delete it, it has separated my speaker pair and created 'bedroom speakers' group that I can't manage and it is 'unable to add to home' and one of the speakers in that speaker pair is not visible on the home app, and when I tried to remove the devices and create a new home for a third time, there is now an error in linking the devices to my account, and there is a loop where it asks me what device in trying to add if I press 'get started', and it loads and then goes back to 'what device are you trying to add'
Omg, lol... This had totally blown up. I can't use any of my devices now and there are a million more errors. I think I'm going to have to uninstall the app and someone l somehow factory reset everything a second
06-18-2022 05:45 AM
Okay, after a factory reset, and errors when setting up the speakers, and then it refused to pay music on all devices. A lot of them were saying, 'something went wrong', but that seems to have fixed with a reboot of them all
New problem now, in that my Best Max won't stop the music when I tell it to stop the music, lol. It just ignores me, and says, 'there's nothing playing on all speakers right now' while there is something playing on the speakers.
Also, when it does stop the music, it cl sometimes closes Spotify, which I want it to do, but now it is just pausing the music
I mean... Can Google just get it's programmers to concentrate on the basics. Like setting up a single device or playing music through speakers? What are they doing all day, eating doughnuts?
06-20-2022 02:46 PM
Hey NestPenguin,
We appreciate your time and efforts! When you ask your Google Nest Hub Max to stop the music, are you playing the music individually or as a group? Also, is it working when you stop the music on the Google Home app?
Regards,
Alex
