Next hub not centering pictures

My google nest hub is not centering pictures.  The hub is cutting the top portion of my pictures of on the display.  I'm only using my favorites as the album to show.

Hello Fritz1,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out.

Please ask your Google Nest Hub to show your favorite photos and check if it's centering them. If it did, toggle the Photo Frame by selecting Art Gallery first before choosing Google Photos again. Let me know if this is happening to all photos or if it depends on the photo's orientation. Learn more about it in this article: Photo frame on your Google Nest display.

Keep me in the loop.

Cheers,
Lovely

The favorites all show as so do the gallery. Most of the pictures are centered.. its only a handful, which the top portion is cut off. An axample would be someone's head missing as in the attached picture.

Perhaps I need to edit the photo and cut it so it's centered correctly?

Hey Fritz1,

Please inform me if the photos that are getting cut off are portrait or landscape. If it's a portrait, it might be that the people in it are not in the general center, which is why the Google Nest Hub is not centering it correctly.

Lovely

I'm not sure.  They were professionally taken with a real camera rather than a phone.  I was given the digital copies.

Hi Fritz1,

Please try changing the settings of your Photo Frame. Here's how: open the Google Home app > Tap the device icon > Choose the Settings on the upper right > Photo Frame > Scroll down and look for Potrait Google Photos > Select Show pairs. Let me know if the photos that were cut off before are now showing as pairs.

Kind regards,
Lovely

I already had it on show pairs.  Some pictures are paired, which displays two at a time.  I have never noticed if the pictures that are cut off show as a pair.  I have about 100 pictures that it rotates through.

Hi there Fritz1,

Sorry for the delayed response. Please let me know if you ever edited your photos and if they centered properly on the screen after that. If not, try factory resetting your Google Nest Hub and configuring it again. Check if there are any changes with the photo frame after that.

Thanks,
Lovely

I had to crop the tops\bottoms of some of the photos that did not center correctly.  After cropping the photos, they seem to be centered much better

Hi Fritz1,

Glad to know that it worked. Looks like cropping the photos reduced its fill size as well as its photo resolution. Try checking other photos too for comparison.

Since this has been resolved, we'll consider this complete and will lock the thread in 24 hours. Feel free to start a new one if you need assistance with your Google Nest devices and the Community would gladly help.

Best,

Princess
