I have a second generation Google home mini. So I looked up how to factory reset after going through all of the troubleshooting for a disconnect a device. I turn the microphone off and then I put a finger in the center of the orange lights, but no matter how long I hold it it never initiates a factory reset. All of my other devices are connected to the Wi-Fi in the Google home app tells me that I cannot access any of the settings for my Google device. I’ve tried to power cycle it two times, with no luck. Any suggestions on how to complete a factory reset?

Hi, have you tried holding the letter G on the bottom of the speaker (center of the bottom)?

Thank you for your comment. I did not try that before, I didn’t see anything online about that. I did just try it and it didn’t seem to do anything.

Thank you, but no I think I’m good.
I ended up not needing to do anything, I must’ve done a it’s own thing. I came back from work one day and it was working perfectly. A couple days later I had the same issue so I went back to you this post and followed your advice to do a full reset. He currently works like it should. If I have the same issue again, I’ll just go out and get a newer version. I’ve had this one for a very long time (for electronics).
