Not able to accept Home Invitation

I wanted to add my spouse to the "google home" to manage the same set of devices in my household.  I can send the invitation no problem.

 
However, when she tried to accept the pending invitation.  It says "Cannot accept the invitation, try again".  It didn't give me any reason why it failed.  
 
I used Andriod / Pixel, and my family uses iPhone.

Are both of your email accounts personal (free) gmail accounts?  The usual cause of this, is one of the accounts being a workspace or non Google account.

Both are personal @Gmail.com accounts.

I'm having the same issue. If it helps, the primary account is created on an Android, and the accepting account is on iPhone. Both are personal Gmail accounts.

I'm having the same problem.

Is there a limit on how many homes you can manage? 

I can't accept my mom's house invitation. I manage my house and my friends house. But I can't accept my mother's invitation.

Is it because it was I manage 2 already.

I am having the same issue.  I invited my husband the google home so he can regulate the new Nest thermostat and he gets an error that he cannot accept my invite right now.  What can I do?  Why is he getting this error?

 

I sent the invite to his gmail account and his non-gmail account.

I think I figured it out. We deleted both nest.com accounts (associated with the same Gmail address) and were then able to accept invite to the home.
