Not hearing my broadcast

I've noticed that my nest hub seems to have selective hearing. It hears me say hey Google broadcast and asks what the message is but even if I shout she doesn't pick up the message I'm speaking.

Hi Grouperbobby,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear the broadcast option isn't working quite right.

While the option to send broadcasts from your phone to a speaker or display is no longer available,  can you clarify if you're saying the message to your Nest Hub from your phone, or directly on the Nest Hub itself?  Do you have a speaker group set up?

I suggest you to follow the Next information:

  • Please make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  • Verify the Do not disturb is turned off
  • Check the Google Home app settings for your Nest Hub. There should be an option to adjust the microphone sensitivity. Try increasing it slightly to see if it picks up your voice better

For more information you can check out this article: Broadcast voice messages to Google Nest or Home devices.

Keep me updated on how things go.

Sincerely,

Jonathan
