Our radio station has stopped playing on Google Home devices in Ireland

Hi,

Our radio station, Radio Nova, has stopped playing on Google Home devices. Up to a few days ago, people in Ireland could say 'Hey Google, Play Radio Nova' and it would play our stream. Since a couple of days ago when we say 'Hey Google, Play Radio Nova' on Google Home devices it says 'I looked for Radio Nova but it either isn't available or can't be played right now'.

We're getting multiple complaints from listeners using Google speakers who can no longer get us.

Can someone help please?

Regards

Kevin Branigan

Hi Kevin,

Glad you reached out.

Sorry to hear about what you are experiencing right now with playing radio using Google speakers. Can you tell us what type of Google speakers are you using? Also, aside from Radio Nova, have you tried checking out other radio stations? Are you using TuneIn when you ask your Google speakers?

Let's go ahead and try to play other radio stations, news and podcast to check if this is only isolated when using radio. Lastly, unplug the Google speakers for at least few minutes and plug it back making sure that the speakers is within a good range from the router.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

1. The type of Google speaker we are using is this one: https://i0.wp.com/9to5google.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2017/04/google-home-picture.jpeg?w=2000&...

2. I have checked other skills of Irish radio stations and they are working although I have read on forums that people have had issues with some Irish radio stations in the last two weeks.

3. I am using Tunein when I ask the Google speakers yes.

4. The only issue I can find is when I ask Google to 'play Radio Nova'; it says 'I looked for Radio Nova but it either isn't available or can't be played right now'. We have had many reports of this issue in the last 10 days from our listeners. Up to 10 days ago, when people said 'Play Radio Nova'. it would play this url: https://tunein.com/radio/Radio-NOVA-100-1003-s117268/

5. I have tried plugging out the device and replugging it in and the issue remains.

Many thanks,

Kevin

I was having this same issue and found that radio nova will play when you say "ok Google play radio nova from tune in" but it will not work when you say "ok Google play radio nova".
