Photo Frame on Nest Hub not showing all Albums from Google Photos

Hello,

On my IPhone 13 Pro I open the Google Home app. Then I tap sequentially on the following terms:
Chromecast -------> Device Settings --------> Ambient Mode ------> Google Photos

At that point, I see a list of albums but not my complete list. A lot of albums are missing.
When I went to my Google Photo app on my IPhone all my albums are visible. Also on Google Photo on PC, all my albums are visible.

I have solved this issue by doing the following.
go to Google photos and select the album that’s Not showing up on nest hub. Once in the album add a recent photo to the album. Once a recent photo has been added, the missing album will now show up on your nest hub allowing you to select this album.

Doesn't work for me.

The above didn't work for me, but the steps below did. Note that I'm on iOS 15.3.1 with updated Google apps (Photos, Home), and my devices are on the latest firmware.

Enabling the albums you'd like to display via Google Photos - navigate to...

  1. Library (rightmost icon on the bottom nav bar)
  2. Utilities (card on the top right of the screen)
  3. Manage photo frames (scroll down, this is buried in the menus at the bottom under ORGANIZE YOUR LIBRARY)
  4. Select the Nest Hub you want on which you want to display albums
  5. Toggle on the albums you want to display on that Nest Hub
  6. Hit save (top right corner
  7. Repeat for any additional Nest Hub devices

Selecting albums on the Nest Hub Device or in the Home App - while the process above successfully displayed my albums on my devices, I wasn't able to select or manage them via the Nest Hub or the Google Home app. The Google Home app now simply shows "Your Photos - Your selected Google Photos Albums" as an option, and the on-device album options never updated at all (it's the same ~4 google-curated albums I've been seeing the whole time). It also seems like this method is actively mixing(1) content from the google-curated albums selectable on the device and (2) the photo albums I manually selected, which isn't exactly what I'd wanted.

Some UI/UX gaps here, but hope this helps anyone who's stuck on this. Curating albums to display seems like one of the main selling points for Nest Hub, so kind of a bummer there were so many hoops to jump through.

Amazing. It works now. Many thanks for your advice. I have IOS15.4 installed on my iPhone.

Hey folks,
It looks like we have come to a solution so I'm going to be locking this thread. If you have any other concerns or questions, please feel free to create a new thread.

Have a great day.

Neither work for me. I've had the hub a few years and have been stumbling with it all along. This time, I'm trying to add a new album and it still only shows my existing 3 albums in the home nest app and the nest itself.

Interestingly, I don't see the Nest on screen when I'm on this step...not sure what to do about that.

  1. Select the Nest Hub you want on which you want to display albums

I do also have 23,232 photos in "Recents" on Apple photos... and my Google photos has been in limbo trying to back up 20,520 photos for months. I saw something about a 20k limit in one of the articles I found, but that would mean i need to permanently delete photos off my phone. My google photo albums have only a couple hundred in them. Curious.

Called Google direct. Got it sorted. I have three Gmail accounts, and my Google Photos was on a different one than my Nest. Once I aligned the two on one account, the albums were there! Amazing.
