Podcast won't play in Google Home routine – tried everything

Hi everyone,

I'm seriously frustrated at this point.
I'm an Italian user living in Italy, and I have multiple Google Home devices (different models). None of them manage to play a podcast as part of my morning routine. I've been trying for months.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

• Tried different podcasts (both international and Italian)

• Tried different ways of writing the podcast name

• Linked my Spotify account properly

• Recreated the routine from scratch multiple times

But every single time, I get the same annoying message:
"I can't play the podcast right now."

Spotify works fine when I ask for music manually. Podcasts also work manually. But as part of a routine? Absolutely not.

Is this a known issue? Is it region-related? Am I missing something stupid?
This issue has been going on for several months now — at least 8 months — and I’ve tried everything. Any help or workaround would be appreciated.
