Our Nest Hub 2nd gen, started displaying flashing “G” continuously. After spending many hours researching I bought a new Hub. New hub worked fine. I read a comment on Reddit from a user who tried a new power cord and his “dead” Nest Hub started working. Out of curiosity I plugged my hub that was flashing a continuous G into the power cable that came with my new hub. Lo and behold it booted up and worked fine.
The Nest Hub that stopped working obviously because of a bad cable was only a little over a year old.
Two things I’d like to ask.
1. Has anyone else experienced this?
2. How do I get Google to send me a new cable. A cable should not fail in a year.

Hi RLS1,
Thank you for reaching out to the community! I understand your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) was displaying a continuous 'G'. I appreciate you researching the issue and confirming that it started working again after you tested it with a new power cable. I know how difficult it is when a device doesn't work as expected. I'll be glad to help!
