Hi 🙂
I have a problem with the speakers connected in Google Home. In one place, in my cafe I have four rooms and in each room I have a Harman Kardon Citation. I created a group in Google Home and now there is nice music playing throughout the cafe.
At home, on the other hand, I have a JBL eXtreme, which is also added to Google Home. And it too can play music nicely.
The problem, however, is that I can't set a 'default speaker' in any of these places. I have to manually select the device I want to play on each time. The sources are tablets, on which I have either Spotify or Tidal. Is it possible to make a 'default setting' so that music always plays on the network speaker (or group of speakers)?
And one more thing would be useful: in the automation, the possibility to set a condition that the Google Home has to start playing music at a specific time, but (just) on a specific device.
Right now, it is the case that, when following the help file, I simply DO NOT see such an item as "default speaker". I don't know if it's a matter of my language version (Polish) or something else, but simply in the device settings this item is not there!!! In the automatics, on the other hand (even though the devices are there and working), the assistant writes that I DO NOT HAVE an audio device on which to play the sound.
So now what?

Hi Mkmágico,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
I'm sorry to hear that you can’t set a default speaker in your cafeteria speakers group created with Harman Kardon Citation devices, nor at your home with your JBL eXtreme using the Google Home app. I understand that you need to select the device you want to play on each time manually, but you want to find a way to set a ‘default setting’ so that music always plays on the network speaker (or group of speakers). It is my pleasure to assist you with this concern.
Since your speakers are Harman Kardon Citation and JBL, I recommend you get in touch with their manufacturer support team so they can assist you with the features of your speakers.
If you have any other questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out. We're here to help!
Best regards,
Virna
