Hello I can't remember the word that let's Google know something has changed.

On my bedtime routine the ocean wave sounds are supposed to stop automatically, wakes me up 2/4am until I tell it to stop.

Mine worked fine for years but stopped last week and I can't remember what word tells Google that something is wrong, any help?

Hi @Chic

You can try and re do that bedtime routine. Just remove or change the sound then add it back. See if that help. Also, clear the Google Home app's caches on your phone.

If you want to send feedback to Google  -you can just say Okay Google Share Feedback then record your message about what needs to be fixed.

Hey there,

Thanks for the help, JillG!

Chic, sleep sounds ( Ocean, Nature, Thunderstorm, etc.) in the bedtime routine plays for one hour if not turned off. Try editing your bedtime routine and use different sleep sound to see if you'll get the same result. Also, try the suggested steps by JillG above.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

I deleted the system program after clearing cache and that command and re inserted it which didn't work so I made a long command "play ocean waves sounds for 45 minutes" this works with one drawback I can't select other sounds easily

Thanks Chic

Hey Chic,

To confirm, are you able to set a sleep timer now? If the issue persists, try resetting your speaker to see if that works.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Chic,

Thanks for the update. Could you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Nest speakers?

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.
