Queue limited to 100 songs on Google nest display

Whenever I try to play a playlist [on YouTube Music] that has over 100 songs on it from my phone to any of my speakers, it only queues the first 100 songs. When I manually go to the last song listed, in the "Up Next" list, it tells me that there are no more songs. It's not that it just hasn't loaded, it literally stops playing. However, if I play it from just my phone, it will queue the whole playlist. I want music to play all day throughout my house from my "Liked Music" playlist. I'd love to have it shuffle, but at this point, I'd take it just playing straight through. The only way I can get it to play music all day is if I simply say, "Hey Google play some music", but I hate doing this because while it starts off with music that I like, it eventually ends up playing music I hate and that I have thumbs down multiple times. Why is there a 100 song limit on speakers?

Hello @Smilieface23,

Thanks for posting in the community.
I understand your frustration with YouTube Music only queuing the first 100 songs of your playlist on speakers. There is currently a limitation on the number of songs that can be queued for playback on speakers through YouTube Music.

While the exact reason for the 100-song limit isn't publicly available, it might be related to managing speaker resources and buffering to ensure smooth playback.

  • Create multiple playlists with less than 100 songs each and cast them one after another on your speakers. You can even name them sequentially (e.g., "Liked Songs 1," "Liked Songs 2") for easier queueing.
  • Go to your "Liked Songs" playlist and tap the three-dot menu.
Select "Start Radio." This will create a radio station based on your favorite songs and play similar music continuously.

If you still prefer some level of control over shuffled music, try using voice commands like "Hey Google, play my Liked Songs playlist on shuffle and skip any songs I thumb down."

I understand you're not a fan of the random music selection with "Hey Google, Play Some Music." Here are some alternatives that might offer more control:

  • Voice Commands with Specific Playlists: Use voice commands like "Hey Google, play my Liked Songs playlist on shuffle" or "Hey Google, play my Liked Songs playlist from the beginning."
  • Cast from Phone: Cast your entire "Liked Songs" playlist directly from your phone to your speakers. This way, it bypasses the 100-song limit on speaker queueing.

Please follow the steps above and let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
