Rai Radio 1 on TuneIn

Hi everyone, i'm  from Italy. The 1'st radio station here, Rai Radio 1, doesn't work in Google Nest (all type) via TuneIn since some months. Other RAI stations (radio 2, radio 3, isoradio...) work instead. The cast it's only possible in TuneIn app or TuneInweb service. When ask tunein to stream that content in a Nest speaker the result is silence. Same result when request is directed to Google Nest by voice.

I'm sorry to learn that you've been unable to continue playing Rai Radio 1 on any Google Nest devices via TuneIn for several months. I understand that you can only play other RAI station options instead of Rai Radio 1, and that you can only cast RAI Radio 1 using the TuneIn app or TuneIn web service, but when you try to play it with the TuneIn app on your Nest Speaker or use the Google Assistant voice, it doesn't play RAI Radio 1.

To assist you better, please answer these questions:

• Have you set your time zone and location correctly?
• Are you using the TuneIn Premium app?
• Is the TuneIn app up-to-date?
• Is the Google Home app up-to-date?
• What have you done to resolve this inconvenience?

If your Google Nest devices don’t play the radio station you requested, try these steps:

• Ask for the station in a different way. For example, if the name didn't work, try the call sign or frequency. 
• Add more specific information, such as "on [radio service]," to your request. Example:  “Hey Google play Rai Radio 1 on TuneIn.
• You can also try to use the frequency, add the name of a nearby city. For example: "Hey Google Play 101.9 FM LA."

Hi Virna, thanks for reply.

• Time zone & location are both correct (they are the same for others working radio).
• Tune in app is the FREE version. It works for all others radio that I listen.
• App is updated to the latest release.
• Google home is updtated too.

I try steps you suggested but none of them resolve. If I use the frequency saying "ok Google suona 89,7 FM" (eng: "hey Google plays 89,7 FM"), the Google Nest recognize the frequency as Rai Radio 1 and say: "Streaming of Rai Radio 1 on tunein", exactly the same result you get when you ask for the radio station using its name, but doesn't play anything at all. The result is silence. 😞

Based on the information you provided, I suggest following these steps:

1. Remove the Google Home app from your mobile device.
2. Remove the TuneIn app from your mobile device.
3. Reboot your mobile device.
4. Install the Google Home app on your mobile device.
5. Install the TuneIn app on your mobile device.
6. Reboot your Google Nest devices.
7. Ask your Google Nest devices to play your radio station.

If the inconvenience persists after performing the previous troubleshooting steps, it will be necessary to perform a factory reset to your Google Nest devices. After this step, you will need to set them up.

Hi Virna, i followed all the steps you suggested. No resulsts: dint't work.

So, I performed also a factory reset of Google Nest mini.

After reset, i connect it to Google Home app, and WiFi.

Same results: all the italian radio works (by tunein). 
Only RaiRadio 1 (it's the 1st broadcaster in Italy, Rai is a public company) don't play.

This rules out any potential software or hardware problems. Please don’t give up! Let's continue looking for a solution.

I would appreciate it if you got in touch with Rai Radio Customer Service and asked them for assistance to determine if they have their own app to launch Rai Radio 1 or if there are any regional restrictions for the Google Home app or TuneIn app.
