Set default speaker not pairing

yooeff99

I have always been able to pair a Bluetooth speaker to my Google home. It would need to be paired pretty often (days or weeks) but it would always pair and work fine. For the last month no matter what I try, it will be not pair and set the default speaker to my Bluetooth. Tried this on multiple Google homes and with multiple bluetooth devices and can confirm it won't pair at all. Anyone else dealing with this problem lately? P.s. - have not been updated to Gemini version yet if that makes any difference.

I left the preview program on the nest hub, and it reconnected to the bluetooth speaker again after a restart.

Hi @yooeff99,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand that you're having difficulty pairing a Bluetooth speaker to your Google Home, which won't pair or allow you to set the default speaker, even though it worked before. I know this must be concerning, especially since you've already tried pairing it using multiple Google Home devices and multiple Bluetooth devices. I appreciate the information you shared. No worries, let's work together to get this resolved. To help with that, I have some questions for you:

  • Are you trying to pair your Bluetooth device to a Nest device? If so, what type of Nest device do you have?
  • When you try to pair, are you getting any specific error messages in the Google Home app?
  • Are there any other nearby Bluetooth devices (like phones, headphones, or tablets) turned on that could cause interference during the initial pairing process?
Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,
Jonathan

Hi @yooeff99,

Thanks for your response. I'm glad to hear that you were able to reconnect your Nest Hub to your Bluetooth speaker by leaving the preview program and resetting the device. Please feel free to reply to this thread if you have any further questions.

Regards,
Jonathan
