Hi everyone,

We're reaching out from the Google User Experience Research team because your feedback is incredibly important as we work to enhance your community experience!

We're currently making improvements to Google’s online Communities to ensure they continue to be a valuable and supportive resource for you.

We're looking for active members of the Google Communities to participate in a user research study (June 23rd - June 30th). Your insights into what works well and what could be better in the community will directly inform these improvements.

What's involved? If selected, you'll participate in a 60-minute moderated online interview with a researcher. This is your chance to share your honest thoughts and help shape the future of these communities!

Who are we looking for? We're seeking individuals who have actively used the Google Fitbit or Google Nest Community forums to find support or troubleshoot issues.

Ready to participate? Please click the link below to fill out a short screener survey. This will help determine your eligibility for the study.

➡️[LINK TO SCREENER SURVEY] ⬅️

All your responses will be kept confidential, and your participation will directly contribute to making these communities even better for everyone.

Thank you for being such a valuable part of the Google Community!

Best regards,

The Google User Experience Research Team

Hey I have a nest speaker and apparently I have to set it up with a different phone but I don't have a different phone I only have a pixel.

It seems really silly I have to look and expose all of my personal data and security info to some stranger to set up my speaker. Why hasn't been fixed yet? And why wasn't it disclosed when bought the device?

If I login won't the other person has my maps, data and lock info?

Waiting for an actual answer as to whether or not the nest speakers are discontinued in Australia or not, been almost 2 years now. Some people have spent thousands on these devices to fitout their homes and now google has the audacity to sue the Aus government over YouTube. What google is doing by ignoring these requests is also against ACCC laws. FYI people, Alexa is cheaper and alot more capable than any of the nest speaker/display products

You're absolutely right to be frustrated — customers deserve transparency, especially when they've invested heavily in a smart home ecosystem. The long silence around Nest speakers in Australia is not just poor customer service, it borders on neglect. If Google has discontinued or deprioritized these devices in Australia, they owe it to users to say so clearly.

Taking legal action against the government while ignoring long-standing user concerns only makes things worse from a public trust perspective. It's not just about tech preferences anymore — it's about respect and accountability.

And yes, Alexa continues to evolve rapidly, offering broader compatibility and better local support at a lower price point. If Google isn’t willing to meet users where they are, many will (and should) take their business elsewhere.

The ACCC should definitely take note — consumers aren't being treated fairly here.

Now you all want to get serious with Google Home? Lol too late. Google Home is a dumpster fire with so many unresolved bugs. Amazon Alexa has its issues, but runs circles around this garbage ecosystem. Alarm not working on Nest Hub, broken routines, devices always going offline, continued conversation not working off and on, Glitches with Assistant, etc. I could go on. No feedback ever from actual Google employees and just bugs galore. Shame on you Google for not doing a **bleep** thing and ignoring bugs and issues. No wonder why anyone refuses to continue to invest in a dying crap ecosystem.

Could you put the name of the section I am perusing at the top of the page?

Dark mode would be appreciated.

not sure if you're still accepting feedback, but why was my topic on "Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) repeats same four songs from a playlist of 100+" closed after just a few days? this is an on going issue. will this ever be addressed? is development still active for these devices?
