When I ask Google to shutdown or switch off after XXX minutes or a set time ( Google shut down at 4am) it is not working

I am having the same problem. I would like the thunderstorm sounds I play to go to sleep with turn off after 30 mins or 1 hour and they don't.

Mine is doing exactly the same! So annoying

This issue has been going on for a couple of weeks now and Google know about it. There is a thread further on in the forum that has nearly 6000 views and Google have got so cheesed off with people keep added their opinions, that they have made the thread 'read only'.

Hi folks,
We're sorry to hear that you're having concerns with your Nest device functions. What are the Nest devices you're all using?
@ShazBrom, we've heard feedback that turning off sleep sounds after one hour is insufficient for some of our users, so we made the decision to remove the end time. We're currently investigating ways to build a comparable solution and we appreciate your patience. I hope this helps but to make sure, your concern is about sleep sound/ambient sounds, right?
@JimGxx, @Elsie1, @Lea67l, @Teletone, may we know if your concern is also about ambient sounds or issues with sleep timers?
We'll be waiting for your response.
Best,
Dan

My particular issue is with the sleep timer only, on my 2 x 1st gen nest hubs and 1 x 2nd gen hub. Thanks

Hi Dan, After reading your message again, it seems than Google have removed 'the end time' for the benefit of 'some of your users'. Removing the end time for the sleep timer seems to have affected 'all' of your users. Could you not re-instate the old firmware to correct the sleep timer issue?
Regards
Teletone

Hi, my issue is with the ambient sounds such as thunderstorm not turning off after a requested amount of time, as well as the sleep timer when listening to music. I use a lenovo smart clock

Hi @Dan_A
Thank you for responding. And yes my query is about sleep/ambient sounds, but just the length of time. I understand some may need the sound for up to 12 hours, but I believe a number of us only need it for a short time to get to sleep. I look forward to hearing about a solution.
Thank you
ShazBrom

Hi folks,
Our team is aware about sleep timers that aren’t working for turning off music at the specified time and are still working on a fix.
For ambient sound, Google made the decision to remove the end time based on user feedback. This behavior is intended, and we're currently investigating ways to build a comparable solution. Hope this helps explain!
For news and updates about sleep timers, keep an eye on the recommended answer on the main thread. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to start a new one for I will be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Kind regards,
Dan
