I’ve had this issue for numerous weeks now and I’ve decided to post this information as it’s very frustrating. When I ask my speaker to set a sleep timer for 30 minutes although it’s playing music from Spotify after particular time it says I cannot do it because there is no media playing. It does not matter if I have handed over Spotify from my iPhone to the speaker or start the music on the speaker directly. I have tried the set a timer in 30 minutes option I have tried to tell her to stop playing in 30 minutes et cetera et cetera but it’s still not working for me is there any workaround for this what would seem a very basic instruction ?

I’ve also had this problem the last couple weeks. It starts with my Google home not responding. Saying to try again. Then when I get it to play it doesn’t turn off after the 20 minutes.
I command it “hey Google, play relaxing sleep music for 20 minutes.” It responds saying it will turn off. But my husband or I wake up at 1-2 in the morning and have to shout at it to wake up, not understand, ask again… make it stop!!!

Hi
Thanks for reaching out.
Sorry to hear about what you're experiencing right now with setting sleep timers on Google Home. Have you already checked if there are existing routines set on your Google Home to see why it misbehaves specifically at 1-2 in the morning? Let's go ahead and check that first so we can further isolate the issue.
Also, let's perform a complete reset to your device and keep on monitoring if it will exhibit the same thing.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Princess
