Smart Speaker volume-commands are being refused

KyleH

For the last few days, my smart speakers have been responding to voice commands by telling me that they "can't adjust volume on this device" .

I don't have any stereo pairs set up.

I have nest mini Gen 2 as well as a nest audio gen1 and a nest hub mini. Almost all of them have the same issue.

Another issue is that my nest hub Mini does not respond to touch controls in the media player either, nor to touch controls when trying to adjust home device volumes.

Everything else works fine.

I have the same problem with my displays and minies.

I have sent couple of emails for support and not answer so far.

So frustrating.

Mine only works with a defined routine that I can call.

Ex.

50%

  • Volume 5 Kitchen speaker
  • Voluume 5 Office speaker

Turn it up

  • Turn up Kitchen speaker
  • Turn up Office speaker

But  stereo pairing...OMG. My routines worked just fine until I Yesterday where I had to reset my network. Now the stereo pair is not working, but split up it does.

This workaround that i figured out works for me - say “hey google pause”, then “hey google set volume up”, then “hey google play”.
