No luck. I restarted each access-point and both mini's. The first command worked, and then both of my mini's went back to error. Then I restarted everything Router, access points and google mini's - almost the same result. Worked the first time on one mini, never resolved on my kitchen mini. Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry to hear that’s not worked for you, seems to have done the job for me.
all i can say then is, best if luck, i hope someone or google is able to help you out.

I'm having the same issue, rebooted all devices and my router, works for the first time after the reboot then the same error. I need help please, this started 2 months ago. it's very frustrating. I have 2 minis and 2 nest hub.

Mine has been doing the same thing. I have never had a problem for years with anything now it will not go away no matter what I reset.

This weekend, I connected to a hotspot on my phone. The home mini worked a few times, after an hour or two I ran into the glitch error. Then I separated my network into 2 bands (2.4 and 5.0), the home minis will not connect to the 5.0 network - and still have the same issue on the 2.4 network. I've ordered 2 new models to see if this solves the issue, I have a feeling it will be the fix.

*I HAVE THE SOLUTION*
I have Spectrum for my WiFi service at home. I called them and had them remotely RESET my router (because unplugging it and replugging it in didn’t work!). When they reset my router, it took 5 minutes to reboot AND THAT RESOLVED MY GOOGLE HOME ISSUES and it’s been working fine ever since. I was at a point after several weeks, I was going bonkers with the “glitch” problem and lengthy pauses in my Google Home device! Good luck!🍀👍🏼

Unfortunately, I have already tried this with no success.

Same issue here - same time line; over a month now. When will this be fixed?
10-29-2021 12:25 AM
K **bleep**ing fix this I’m not reading your mile long paragraphs
11-02-2021 05:49 AM
I have a similar issue. I have 2 Nest speakers, 1 mini, 2 hubs and 1 hub max. and i'm full of regret that i should've bought Alexa. I only have the issue of "there is something wrong" on the 3 hubs... NOT on the speakers or mini, only the *** hubs. I've tried resetting, checked my routers...nothing. For months it was working flawlessly and suddenly in August this crap started happening. My guess after an update from Google but i'm not sure. Fix this asap!! Your products are useless now.

After HOURS of testing, redoing my network, connecting to an outside network, etc. I gave up on my Google Home Mini's (1st Gen) and ordered 2 new Google Nest Mini's (2nd Gen). Magically the problem is not there with the new 2nd Gens. The issue remains with the 1st GEN and I'm assuming Google will not be fixing it. Seems like a simple software update that will not be pushed to the 1st GEN.
11-04-2021 10:11 AM
Thank you for the follow up. Does tend to backup the global issue problem that most folks here believe is the case. All three of my units are gen 1 as well.
And if this is so, it sure would have been nice for support to relay this info, instead of having me do ten resets on each device. On my last contact, they just told me to send feedback via the Google home.
Personally, I don't know that I'd spend another dollar on Google hardware.
11-04-2021 10:25 AM
I didn't want to give Google another dollar after all of my time they wasted, but there was no other troubleshooting step to try and I was determined to 'fix' it. It's kind of funny using the 1st and 2nd GENs on the same floor of the house. The 2nd GENs do what is asked and about a minute later I hear the error on the 1st GENs.

I tried something two days ago and it looks like it's working in my situation.
11-04-2021 10:29 AM
I like that idea, however, I have this issue even when I am not home and other people try using my network. Google Home app is not required on their phones to use the speakers.
Or is this a global setting that changes something on the speakers as well?
11-04-2021 10:37 AM
I really don't know... maybe? I just followed a suggestion on a website and miraculously no more errors since. And i had these errors multiple times a day, especially when there was no usage for a while... So it went sleeping. Maybe only the phone who made and configured the house, just guessing here. I just made the same adjustment on the phone of my wife to be sure.

The app should not need to be active in order for the Google Home devices to operate correctly. The app is used for setup and settings, but these devices are designed to operate with only their own Wi-Fi connection. This is true of virtually all other smart home devices on the market as well.
11-05-2021 05:53 AM
Well... my problems are gone. I read it, tried it and it solved it for me after months of issues. Coincedence? I think not.
11-12-2021 06:58 AM
I wonder if anyone here has experienced this particular problem on second gen (or later) Google Home devices?
11-12-2021 07:10 AM
I wish I could edit my original post to list EVERY step I've gone through. Setup 2 new 2nd Gens, they were working famously for 2.5 weeks, and now they randomly have the Glitch as well. WAY TO GO GOOGLE!
11-12-2021 07:27 AM
Thanks for that update. I was beginning to wonder if this was just a gen 1 issue. I might have even considered replacing them if so. Now I doubt I'll ever buy another.
I did pick up an Echo show. It does some things better, but even the original Home Hub is superior. At least when it works.
12-15-2021 11:50 AM
Yes. I have a 2-y/o Lenovo clock that works like a champ, but the Gen2 I bought didn't solve my problem.
11-12-2021 12:20 PM
Both my google home minis have now started working again, no fix on my end though - just randomly one day they started working about two weeks ago and every time I have interacted with them since I have had no problem. This tells me for sure it is a google issue, since I literally did nothing and they magically started working again after months of “hmm something went wrong”.
11-12-2021 12:21 PM
Hopefully mine get the fix soon!
11-12-2021 12:24 PM
I hope they do too! I am still always prepared to hear “hmm something went wrong” so it is a pleasant surprise when I don’t. Keeping my fingers crossed I never hear it again!

Hi - just thought I would share this, in case it helps someone.
I have nest audio speakers in a stereo pair. They stopped casting audio (from any source) and would only say "something went wrong" (but would still answer "hey google" questions and do home automation stuff, so were still connected to the internet). Tried all the obvious stuff - reboot, reset etc.
I have a mesh network, which I think was the cause of the problem somehow. I moved both speakers close to a wifi access point, and they started working again. Moving them back to their original position - they still work.
I have not completely got to the bottom of it, but my hypothesis is that the different speakers in the pair were each connected to a different wireless access point in the mesh, which resulted in it throwing a wobbler. But it might be something else.
Anyway - worth moving speakers that are not responsive to near to a wireless access point to see if that sorts things out.
Thanks to the google chat guy who helped resolve the issue.
11-16-2021 03:19 PM
That didn't' work for me. I actually pulled a speaker and some items connected off my mesh network and hooked them all up to the hotspot on my phone. The error started back up within minutes.
What I have noticed is that the error goes away for a bit when there is a "fix" that Google asks me to try, but it ultimately comes back.

Getting something went wrong error on minis and nest max hub. Rebooting does not fix it. It will eventually work after numerous attempts. Being going on for over 3 wks

Hi, At a guess it could be a DNS issue, likely a timeout for the devices communicating to google. I had something similar happen to me. If you have any kind of advert blocking or DNS or multicast type restrictions enabled on your router that might be interfering with these devices I would switch that off and see if it helps.
10-30-2021 10:55 AM
suggestions as to how to turn that off
10-30-2021 11:20 AM
What make/model of router or wifi device do you use and who is your internet service provider?
10-30-2021 11:23 AM
Issue could also be down to wifi interference too, causing the DNS to timeout, do you know what channel you run for 2.4ghz wifi and do you have 5ghz wifi too?
