Speaker Groups missing speakers

Started happening a few weeks ago.  It seems that when you play music through speaker groups (either by casting or from Google Assistant), there are always speakers missing from the group. 

For example, if there are 5 speakers in the group, only 3 speakers will play.  If you go into the Home app, you'll see the missing speakers aren't playing as part of the group.  It used to be that you can add them by clicking on the option buttons (the little circles) but this doesn't even work anymore.  

If you go to that individual speaker and connect, it has no problem connecting so it is on the network.  I'm pretty sure it's not my Wifi since I have a high quality wifi mesh.  

The only way to resolve the problem (sometimes) is to reboot the individual speakers.  This isn't an occasional problem.  It's frequent. 

Is it something Google is messing with and not telling us?  Is it similar to the group volume problem that stemmed from the legal battle with Sonos?

Hey folks,

 

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you, let’s check what’s going on. 
 

Could you tell us what speakers are included in your speaker group? How far are they from your router? Also, are they still working when playing music individually?

 

Try rebooting your router or Wi-Fi points to refresh the connection. Resetting your device to its default settings might help too.

hey Alex. thanks for the reply. I tried everything before posting.

rebooted router and satellites (orbit mesh) a couple times.

rebooted each device several times. nothing worked. 

this group has:

Paired Nest Audio 

Chromecast Audio

single Nest Audio

Nest Hub Max

The reboots did nothing but a couple days later, everything worked. almost like someone did something at Google...
