Speaker not finding device when in plural format

Hi all. I am running into a strange issue... When I say "ok google, turn on my garden lights", the device is not found. If I say "ok google, turn on my garden light", the speaker responds "Ok, turning on the garden lights". The "garden lights" in question are in home assistant and everything else works but this one oddity. I even created a custom routine in google home for when I say "turn on the garden lights" but it still won't work unless I pronounce it in singular.

My guess is that, since what you have named "garden lights" is actually a singular device (a light switch or outlet), Google Nest can't understand when you refer to the plural "garden lights". Google Nest does not know that your "garden lights" device controls multiple lights.

Why not just rename "garden lights" to "garden light" and acknowledge Google Assistant is simply not very sophisticated, and is not very forgiving of the nuances of language?
