Spotify: Sound stutters on track advance (start of a song), with bluetooth speakers

I found at least two other threads about this, however, they were locked and I wasn't able to reply.

This seems to only be an issue with Spotify and using a Bluetooth audio connection. Has anyone been able to solve this?

Thank you.

Hi KLD19,

Thanks for posting and I'm sorry you're experiencing a stuttering when playing Spotify at the start of a song ― question: what Nest speaker do you have and where is the stuttering happening? Just to confirm, since you already mentioned it's only happening when using Spotify, have you tried other music services like YouTube?

To start with, let's try this fix: do a sequential reboot by unplugging the power cord of your router followed by your Nest Speakers. Restarting your phone might also help.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your reply. I have the Next Hub (2nd Gen) speaker.

I have it playing over Bluetooth to a Fosi Audio amp which has Bluetooth 4.2.

The stuttering only happens at the start of each song. Once it gets past the first few seconds it plays fine for the rest of the song.

I was actually coming here to update my comment to say that last night I was trying YouTube and it was doing the same thing.

I tried moving the Nest Hub right next to the Bluetooth amp/receiver and it still does the stuttering, so I don't think it's a Bluetooth range issue.

It only does this over Bluetooth. When the songs are playing directly out of the Nest Hub speaker there is no glitch, so it seems unlikely it is a network issue, right?

I have restarted everything and the issue is still there.

Is this a known issue by chance? I have seen some other threads about it. Is it a bad unit? Should I try to exchange it?

Thanks!

Hey KLD19,

Thank you for the reply. As you've mentioned, when directly playing out of your Nest Hub 2nd Gen there's no stutter and doing great. There might be only two possibilities here: one is the network connection, the other would be the receiver which in this case is your Fosi Audio. Also, try to move your devices closer to your router for a better connection. These are not full proof unless you're able to contact Fosi support to gain more information and troubleshooting steps so that we can narrow things down.

Tell me how it goes.

Regards,

Dan
