Spotify won't load on my devices

LeonPresta

I've tried everything that I've found to try and get Spotify to load on my devices and I can't get it to work. I've factory reset both devices a dozen times, linked and unlinked my account each time, created a new email address just to try and create a new free spotify account to try and link it. Nothing is working. Every time it just brings up and Spotify logo on the screen and then times out and says 'something went wrong'.
I can't even play it from my phone and then transfer it to the Hub as if I've connecting to a speaker, it just brings up the logo and then says 'something went wrong'.

I need so assistance with this please, as it's been killing my brain trying to solve this. It's either that the Google Home set up is struggling to log into the linked account of the app just lags and then crashed, but I can't do anything about the apps on the hub or nest screens.

I need this solved!

Hi @LeonPresta!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Google Nest Hub is not loading Spotify, displaying the Spotify logo and then a 'something went wrong' error message, both when trying to launch it directly and when attempting to cast from your phone. I understand how challenging it is when you've invested time and effort in troubleshooting your devices, and the problem still persists. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Is the Google Home app up to date?
  • Could you please tell me the current firmware version of your Google Nest Hub? Here's an article to help you check: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes.
  • Are other music streaming services (like YouTube Music or Pandora, if you have them linked) working correctly on your Google Nest Hub?
  • When you try to cast from your phone, are you able to cast content from other apps (like YouTube or Netflix) to your Google Nest Hub successfully?
  • Have you had a chance to reboot your modem and router since this issue began, even if other devices seem to be connecting fine?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi

Hi @GeremiG ,

Thanks for assistance. As requested, answers below:

  • Google Play Store confirms my Google Home App is up to date.
  • I have two display devices:
    1. Google Nest Hub Max - System Firmware # 26.20250116.103.2900
    2. Google Nest Hub - System Firmware # 26.20250116.103.2900
  • I do not have any other music streaming services.
  • YouTube and Netflix can be cast from any device within the home network.
  • I have rebooted every device in my network multiple times with different things attempted.

To confirm, I've had this issue for nearly 6 months now and have tried multiple things to try and rectify it. I've rebooted all devices, I've factory reset both hubs and even linked and unlinked my spotify account multiple times.
Appreciate any help you can provide.

Regards,
Leon.
