Still playing wrong music. Still.

I asked for Queen on Apple Music. (You know, Queen. we are the champions. Queen.) it repeated back to me my command, so it heard me. Got some rap (?) band called Queen Queen. Repeated the command. Got the same thing again.

Please don't ask me to check my Wi-Fi connection or anything else. Everything is working or it wouldn't have responded in the first place and it wouldn't have started playing either. The problem is the programming and the coding that is what needs a major overhaul.

YOU HAVE GOT TO DO BETTER.

I just switched from Spotify to Apple music and had the same issue. Also when I use Google assistant to tell Apple music to play a band, it will only play two songs from that band then play random music. Spotify does not have these issues, I think this might be intended behavior from Apple music which is annoying

Hi there,

Thank you very much for contacting this community! I understand that you tried to play Queen music, but your Home device only played a rap group on Apple Music. I know you have confirmed several troubleshooting steps, such as checking the Wi-Fi connection—that's good to know—and don't worry, I will tell you how to proceed to solve this problem!
I would like to ask you a few questions to give you more information about this issue you are having:

  • Which model does the user have? (Google Home Mini, Google Home, Google Home Max, Google Home Hub, and more)
  • In wat country are you from?
  • Are you connected in the same account in the Google Home app and in Apple Music?
  • What was the voice command you used to play the desired audio content?

In the meantime, I recommend you trying the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Confirm your mobile device and speaker share the same Google Account.
  • Verify correct default music setup:
    • Open the Google Home app.
    • At the top right, tap the Profile picture or Initial.
    • Make sure that the Google Account listed is the one linked to the device. To switch accounts, select the alternate email address, if available.
    • Tap Home settings > Services > Music.
    • To choose the default service, tap the radio button to the right of the service.
  • Perform a factory reset.

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
Eduardo

I'm in USA. It's both devices I own, the older mini and the newer Nest speaker. This has been an ongoing problem. I've done a factory reset more than once. Obviously I'm using the same emails and Wi-Fi's and all of that stuff. it has nothing to do with that. Clearly it's some sort of either algorithm or coding or something that has nothing to do with me and everything to do with Google.

i've been through this a million times. I say "hey Google, play Queen on Apple Music." It says " playing Queen on Apple Music" and then plays the wrong thing. Put in any band name you want, there's probably a good chance it's going to play the wrong thing or it's going to play a cover band.

Hi @Lbw,

Thank you very much for this information. I understand that what you are describing is probably related to the algorithm or something similar, but since you've indicated it has happened many times, I would first like you to Share feedback about Google Home After that, I'd like you to share more of this information; the team would like to learn more about this behavior. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo

I've done this like 10 times already. I just started the verbal feedback and halfway through it interrupted me and said should I send the feedback. If I can't even get an entire sentence out how am I supposed to expect that someone's actually even going to do anything about this? In fact I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've actually done this and nothing changes I don't think anyone even reads these things or listen to these things or tries to adjust or fix anything.

I tried making a new playlist on iTunes, a Smart Playlist instead of a manual one. Named it something different. Unlinked Apple Music and RELINKED Apple Music. Now when I request "play my playlist called Tuesday Night on Apple Music," it says "playing album Tuesday Night on Apple music."

Not my playlist. It's some random album. Even though I said PLAYLIST.

yet, I just tried another playlist I've had for like ten years and it played it just fine....explain that one to me now.

All I want out of this thing is to play specific music. It shouldn't be this hard.
