Stop reacting to "hey google hey google"!

SunnyRio

If it's playing music, sometimes it doesn't hear "hey google", so when I say "hey google" and the music doesn't stop, I say "hey google" again, but if it has heard me the first time and is just being its usual slow self, it then hears my request as "hey google", so it says "hey indeed".  For goodness sake, why can't it ignore a duplicate "hey google"?

Hey SunnyRio,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. My apologies for the delays.

I know how it feels when you're having issues with your Google Home/Nest device. Let's dig deeper - when did the issue start? What is the volume level of your device while playing music? How far are you from the speaker when saying the hotword?

Please note that it is normal for the speaker to not understand or react on hotword especially when the environment is noisy like when someone is playing loud music. You have to make sure that you are within 3-5 ft. away from your speaker for the device to hear you properly.

Try the steps on this guide to set Google Assistant’s “Hey Google” sensitivity.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi SunnyRio,

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above about the "Hey Google" sensitivity given by @Muddi ? If yes, how is it?

Best,

Dan
