Terrible delay when using stereo pair

Hello,

I have two Google WiFi speakers an wanted to use them as stereo so I could use them as a part of a surround sound system. However, when I use them as a stereo pair, there is a huge delay of a couple seconds. When I separate them again there is a minor latency so the problem lies with the stereo pair. Is there a solution, and if not, are there plans for working on one?
