Same, new nest audio, shows in my Google Home app, I hit set up but it says it needs to be activated first. I've tried everything I can find online and nothing works. Came here for answers.

There was someone yesterday with the same problem here, with blue lights on.

He was trying to connect to his wifi network but that only broadcasted a 5 Ghz signal and Google (as almost all other smart home devices) really need to be on a 2.4 Ghz network, is that the case for you too ?

My WiFi does say 5 Ghz but we also have the nest mini and doorbell camera and both of those work with our WiFi. Is there a way around this?

I am using a Pixel phone, is that the issue? My husband used his Galaxy to set up the other two.

Yes, I think that's the issue. Turns out there is a very small sunset of people, that include me, who had an older model Google Home they'd never taken out of the box, who also have Pixels. Somehow, that I don't fully understand, the Sonos verdict made Google change something that means we can't activate our Google Home with a Pixel... So... Since we all have Pixel phones in our house, not sure how we will get around it, but I will try my daughter's Chromebook.

Hey kmayfield,

I am sorry to hear you are still running into the issue with getting your device activated. I did find an article with more details. Please let me know if that helps out, or if you have any questions from here.

Best regards,

Jake

I think that is just the generic setup article. The problem I have is that my Google Home device is not recognized by the Google Home App on my Pixel. This is a known issue. But I have yet to see a workaround which doesn't require setting up from a non Pixel device, which O don't possess

Hey kmayfield,

I am sorry that you are still having issues setting up the device. Do you happen to have another phone or tablet you can use to complete the setup? I know this is not ideal, but currently is the only workaround.

Best regards,

Jake

Sure. I still can't get it to work. Jake shared the generic help info. But that isn't the problem. See my response to him above. If you have any info about that, I'd appreciate it.
