I’m trying to set up my Nest Hub 2nd generation in my Google Home App but I keep getting this error reading when trying to connect-  enabled local network access in your iPhone’s privacy settings.
I have enabled local network settings on my iPhone, it still won’t work. I’ve used two other iPhones to see if it’ll work and it doesn’t. All network settings are enabled. I’ve unplugged and started over, tried a new location, and nothing works.
Any ideas?

Have you tried manually connecting to the wifi hotspot that the hub creates during setup?

No, I haven’t. How do I do that?
thanks for your reply!

During setup, go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and look for the Google hubs wifi network and connect to it , that should allow the setup to compete

Okay, I was able to do that and the display said connected and to finish setup in the Google home app. I opened the Google home app and proceeded to add the display but it couldn’t find it.

Definitely a connection issue then... Are you on iOS 15? If so can you turn off iCloud relay?been seeing issues with that recently as well.. if this doesn't work then I'll escalate to the Google team for you

Another question to be sure I did everything correctly, what is the password you enter when you connect to the hub wifi?
My iPhone is running on 15.1. I also thought it could be that my phone was too old, so I used my daughter’s newer iPhone and I had the same problem. I’ll turn off iCloud relay and see if that works.
Thank you, again, for all your help, it’s greatly appreciated!

No worries at all, as for the password it should actually be an unsecured network when it's broadcasting in setup mode so no password would be required.

I turned off iCloud relay, that didn’t work either.
When I try to connect to the hub network, it asks for a password.

This is odd, I had no trouble setting up the thermostat, doorbell, or wired camera.

Hmm... All right definitely odd.  Have you factory reset and started over ?  You do this by holding both the volume up and down buttons on the back of the hub down for ten seconds or so, the hub will let you know it's resetting.

Ok, I’ll try that!

Resetting didn’t work either. I’ll restart my wifi tomorrow morning to see if that works.

I am having the same issue as others on here, it just tells me that something went wrong and to enable local network access. I have turned that on and off, restarted my phone and Google nest mini, turned off iCloud relay and tried connecting to the Google hub wifi when setting it up but it asked me to connect to the wifi that my Google nest was connected to in order to complete the set up and then I was right back at the “something went wrong page”. The only thing I haven’t done is reset the router because I am in a college dorm room and There isn’t a router for me to reset. Any suggestions would be helpful.

FYI, I'm in same situation here. Nest Hub mini 2nd get wan't connect to wifi. When I try to connect to Nest's hotspot from iPhone it requires a Password. Just out of the box. Factory reset did not change a thing.

As per the other user, restarting their home wifi did the trick, can you give that a try?

Hi I’m experiencing the same issue where I can’t setup my nest mini. I’ve tried all the steps above except for restarting wifi. I’m currently living in a student accommodation hence I don’t have access to restarting the wifi router. I have been trying to set it up for about a week now..
