Unable to create routine(s) to turn radio ON/OFF

We're planning to gon vacation and would like to create a simple routine to turn a radio station called KOST fm ON everyday starting a 6 PM for hours. I tried so many ways to do without any success. Furthermore, I have 6 Nest speakers currently installed throughout the house and I'd like music from KOST station to play on ALL my speakers. Any help, specific suggestions or steps by steps guides would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

I was finally able to create a routine to do what I wanted to do. However, I am still not able to have ALL my Nest speakers to play with the routine. Before creating the routine, I created a speaker group with the expectation that I could use the speaker group instead of using one of my existing speaker. For some strange reasond, the routine DIDN'T use the speaker to do so. It used one of my existing to play the radio statio what am I missing?  What is it that I am still NOT doing correctly? Thank you in advance again for your help.

Hi Fourcand,

This is not the experience we wanted you to have, let us help you. A few things: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, change the speaker or speaker group name. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the speaker or speaker group that you wish to change the name.
  3. Tap on the gear icon at the top-right corner to open the Device settings page for the speaker.
  4. Tap on the Name option.
  5. Customize your speaker's name and tap SAVE to continue.
  6. Do the same on individual speakers and try the command to play music or radio, with or without routines being set.

For more information, see this guide.

Greetings Dan, I have 5 Google Nest Points and 1 Google Nest router. I also did all the steps that you proposed to no avail. The routine that I created appears to works OK. I finally realized that I can ONLY have 1 default speaker which appears to have to be one of my existing Google point speakers. The Google zjome app doesn't give me the choice to use my created speaker group or to use multiple speakers as A DEFAULT device. Therefore, the routine can ONLY play using ONE (1)  speaker. I really would like to know if I could use all 5 of my speakers located throughout the house instead of just ONE (1) speaker. I even attempted to create an action that reads:
Play KOST 103.5 fm for 2 hours on WI-FI Speakers Group
Which a speaker group that I created that has all 5 of my existing Google Nest speakers on it. All that to no avail. Whenever I initiated the routine, it plays ONE (1) only. If I choose NO DEVICE for the default then none of the speakers played all.
Thanks a lot!

Hey there Fourcand,

Apologies for the delayed response. Routines work well with a single device in mind however, it cannot be set on a speaker group.

I totally understand that these are good features to use with your Nest Hub, but these features are not available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. Let us know if you have other questions and concerns otherwise, we will be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Cheers,

Dan
