Unable to link Apple Music to Google Nest Mini

I have a new Nest Mini (just purchased, December 2021). I signed up for an Apple Music free trial but cannot get the Google Home app to link to Apple Music.

Prerequisites:

- I am signed in to the Apple Music app on my iPad and I can play music through it.

- I am signed in to iCloud with my Apple ID

- The Nest device is connected to my network and I can see it in the Google Home app

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the Google Home app on my iPad.
2. Go to Settings > Music.
3. Select the Apple Music service to link the account.
4. Enter my Apple ID username and password. This appears to work correctly.
5. The Google Home app returns to the view and Apple Music remains un-linked.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have this same issue.  I've tried resetting my nest mini completely, turning my phone off/on.  Nothing works.  I go through all the steps and the Apple Music account still shows that is is not linked with the message "not signed in."  So frustrated!  I've tried this for several days now.

I've had this problem too and it has taken me multiple hours of trying to troubleshoot and I do have the paid version of Apple music. I gave up and bought Alexa devices, but I prefer google so I wish there was a simple fix for this. I canceled spotify because I prefer apple music so I was excited when I saw that google was now compatible with apple music in canada, but after spending so many hours, I lost patience.

SOLVED: It cannot be an Apple Music Free Trial. It must be a full, paid premium account. When I created one it worked the first time.

I have a full paid music subscription and it still is not working, as others have noted as well

I’m having the same issue with Apple Music! I have a full Apple account ahd it still says I cannot sign in , help !!?

I have the same issue, premium apple music and it doesn`t show in settings - could it be becaus eof the region ?! I live in Romania.

Same here. It says that it’s linked in my Google home app but when I ask to have it play specific playlists it tells me it’s not linked. However when I say “play Giveon in Apple Music” it plays a song from that artist. Going to give Alexa a try, this is too much.

SOLVED! I’ve had my Google mini for over a year now. I never had issue linking my free 6 mos trial Apple Music. My trial is still good for 3 months, but I’m also having the same issue. I woke up yesterday and it’s saying I need to link my Apple Music account, it’s annoying. Must be an issue on their end. 

UPDATE: I KEPT PLAYING WITH GOOGLE HOME APP. I DELETED MY HOME AND SIGNED BACK IN. LINKED MY APPLE MUSIC AND IT WORKED

I can't sign in on the google home IOS app or the android home app.  I have the paid version.  I've tried deleting the home and signing out as others have suggested.  This is silly.  And why can't I do it over a web browser? WTH google.
