Unable to set radio alarm on Nest Hub 2nd gen in Canada

"OK google,  set radio alarm at 7am."

"Since I can't do that on this device yet, I set a regular alarm on this device at 7am."

I'd like to be waked up and listen to news. Please let me know how to do it.

I have exactly the same problem since the beginning (purchase on November 25). I requested Google support by Chat, the technician made me reset my Google Nest Hub 2, but without success.

I received an email response that said, "I invite you to try setting up a clock radio on Nest Hub from a custom routine."
OK, it works, but I miss the functionality of the Google voice assistant ...

Same problem here. In addition to that I can't define a routine in google home, as routine is not shown there.

Likewise. I am based in Ireland (English-speaking) and I cannot get my Nest Hub 2nd gen to set a Radio Alarm.

Based on this guide, I tried saying this: "Set RTE ONE radio alarm for 12.15 PM today."

  • I got the following response: "Since I can't do that, I have set up a regular alarm for 12.15 OM"

Based on this thread, I amended my instruction to: "Set stream RTE ONE radio alarm for 12.15 PM today.", and got the same response.

So what do I need to do?

Notably, there is no "Radio" option for me to "Link your radio services" (guide here). The list under Services is as follows:

  • Video
  • Music
  • Podcasts
  • Communications
  • Notes and lists
  • Works with Google

So is there some geographic or other restriction of which I am unaware?

Getting it to play a radio alarm is essential for me, or I will have to dig out and use another alarm clock. Surely Google doesn't want to promote the Nest Hub as something to accompany an actual alarm clock!?

I'm not the OP; however, my issue remains unresolved (as well as one with Spotify, but I guess I should raise that under another thread).

The problem is still existing. When I try to set a radio alarm I get the reply that "As I can't do this with this device I have set a normal alarm". Starting a radio stream in the good morning routine is also not very reliable. When you activate this function in the alarm setup menu (last option in the alarm stetting menu) the morning routine is not triggered at all. When I select the option to trigger it on alarm stop within the good morning routine, it works most of the time, but sometimes it does not. The morning routine is also not triggered if I select the alarm for more then one day. For instance Monday to Friday. I am based in Austria. Maybe the function of starting a radio alarm is not support here. It would be very convenient to have a list that shows which function of the nest is available in which country. This list would also be very helpful for the support guys. I am afraid that they also don't know what works where.

Same here.  Unable to set a Radio Alarm on my Nest Hub 2nd Gen.  I'm located in Canada.  Google Assistant tells me it's unable to do that on this device, as per the OP.

It's completely frustrating and ridiculous to have a 100$ high-tech streaming internet box not being able to play a radio for an alarm, which a 10$ analog cheap radio alarm box can...  Way to go Google !

Still not working after 4 months.  I use the "plays morning routine after alarm is dismissed" to work around this problem.  However, it played my morning routine once on a Monday to Friday repeat alarm.  😞

Just to confirm ,this is a reproducible bug. I have the same behavior here in Austria. This is unbelievable for a company like Google

Same issue here in the UK. I read it was only available in the USA but i deleted my location and it still hasn't worked. 

Where is the fix Google?

After setting the language to English (US) and removing French (Canada), I actually was able to create a radio alarm. 

But now there is another bug : as soon as you edit/modify the alarm, or simple toggle it on/off in the alarm list, the alarm will revert back to a regular non-radio alarm.    This bug was introduced around 3 weeks ago on my Lenovo Smart Clock, and it's also there on my brand new Nest Hub 2nd Gen much to my dismay !!  Fix your stuff Google please !
