Unable to unlink/remove existing LG thinq TV

LakshmiNarayana

Hello Team,

I'm Unable to unlink/remove existing LG thinq TV from my devices in order to link again.

The reason it cannot unlink is it cannot find that existing link service anymore. Looks like it's old service but I want to link new LG thinQ service but it cannot link until the old link is removed. I'm unable to remove the old TV link since the service is no more found in existing connections.

Please suggest. It been really pain from a long time.

Hi LakshmiNarayana,

Thanks for posting. Let’s get this sorted out. Do you have a household member in your home structure?

If you have a household member, check if they previously linked LG ThinQ to their Google Home app. If yes, advise them to unlink it. Otherwise, let’s try doing the steps below:

  • Go to Third-party apps & services from your Google Account > Remove LG ThinQ's access.
  • Clear the app cache. Open your phone’s Settings > Apps > Select the Google Home app (and the LG ThinQ app) > Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app > Log in, and then link LG ThinQ again.

If that didn’t work, try to use a different phone and let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
