Thinking of switching from Amazon Echo to Google Nest Mini speaker because Amazon will start requiring a Prime membership to buy their add on option to contact emergency services next year an no longer offer it as a stand alone subscription. Looks like you can't tell the Nest to call emergency services directly like Amazon does and it is only available with the Nest Aware subscription on the Google Home app. I need to know if I will be able to tell the Nest to tell Google Home app to call emergency services without me having to pull my phone out to go into the app.

HI @suzyhutch
You could use the Mini if you have a Nest Aware subscription to contact emergency services. See this help page for the details: Emergency calling with Nest Aware - Google Nest Help

I've read this page a dozen times and still can't figure out that if I pay for an Aware subscription I can just say "Nest call emergency services". This page just talks about using the google home app. This is a yes or no question for me - does it work like Amazon using the speaker and not having to open an app to get help.
