Using other google home member's YT premium account as the default provider

Our Google Home was originally set up under my wife's email and I was added add a member. Since we switched from Spotify to YT Music Premium we can't use voice commands to stream music without ads. It's acting as though the free TYM service is the default.

The YTM premium subscription is under my account is associated with my profile in Google Home > settings > music. My wife's profile music settings is set to "No default provider, use other accounts preferences"

Does anyone know why I can't get google home to see the premium account with voice commands? No problem using the YT music app and casting to any of the nest hubs/minis. Just wont work work with voice commands.

Hi there simon101,

Thank you for reaching out to our community!

We understand it's frustrating that your Google Home only plays music with ads when using voice commands. Don't worry, let's get things working again. Here are some things to try:

  • Restart the device by unplugging it from the wall and waiting 5 minutes before plugging it back in.
  • Change your default music service to something else temporarily, then switch back to YouTube Music.
  • Remove yourself from the home and then get invited again so the hub can get your data updated once again

Let me know what you find.

Regards,

Angel.
