Verbal Response

I understand the latest update delivers a chime rather than a verbal response - I understand why this has been done.  However, as my nest controls a switch in another room I need the verbal response.  Is there a why of turning the verbal response back on or is this feature(?) being dictated to customers/users?

Hi quarkrad,

Thanks for reaching out. We're expanding the use of chimes to acknowledge smart home requests to operate devices in the same room in response to feedback from our own internal trials and the helpful input from the Google Nest community. You can check out the helpful link below to learn more about it.

Currently, there is no option to enable or disable Google Assistant verbal responses. We appreciate people who are keen on sharing their thoughts with us. We're always looking for ways to improve. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. See the article below on how to do it.
