Why won’t my nest call my phone

When I try to call my phone from the Nest my phone does not “ring”. It will call my son and my husband. I can start a call from my phone to the Nest. But when I start a call to my phone from the nest it doesn’t “ring”. I do get a notification in Meet that I missed a call. Any suggestions ?

Hello JSMidwest,

Thanks for reaching out to the Nest Community. We're happy to help you with your questions about calling from Google Home devices to your phone.

You're welcome, and thank you for the detailed information about your family's calling setup. It appears you've configured your Nest device using your personal Google account, which is also the account you use on your phone.

The issue you're encountering is that calls from your Nest device originate from that specific Google account. Therefore, you cannot directly call your own phone, as it's linked to the same account. Two devices linked to the same Google account cannot simultaneously initiate a call to each other.

This explains why you can successfully call other family members who use different Google accounts, but not your own phone. To call your phone, you'll need to initiate the call from a different Google account.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Kevin
