"Call Home" not working

Jlooper

Hey everyone.

Ever since the switch from duo to meet, we are unable to use the call home feature. We use this for our babysitter who does not have a phone. We have two nest mini speakers, and a Lenovo clock speaker setup currently in the home.

Can anyone walk me through setting this up? We can sometimes get either my wife or my calls to work, but never both of us and it's not consistent. So we want the ability for either of us to call home at any time.

Help please! Thanks!

Hello Jlooper,

Thanks for reaching out to Google Nest Community.

Members of your home can call your Nest speakers or displays from their phone or from the home's other Nest speakers or displays.

Note: Nest Hub (2nd gen) can't receive calls between devices when Only ring when home is turned on and you're away from home.

Call a Nest speaker or display from another Nest speaker or display

To call another speaker or display in your home, say "Hey Google," then "call [display or speaker name]" or "video call [display or speaker name]."

Call a Nest speaker or display from your phone

To call your devices from your phone, you need:

With Google Assistant:

  • To call one device, say "Hey Google, video call [display or speaker name]."
  • To ring all your devices, say "Hey Google, video call [name of your home]."

With the Google Meet app: To ring all your devices, open the Google Meet app and then swipe up and then tap Call my home devices.

With the Google Home app: To ring all speakers and displays in your home, open the Google Home app Google Home app and thentap Favorites and then Call Home .

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess
