"Hey google what's playing?" and nest starts singing a song

Playing music on nest mini speaker with youtube music, I ask "What's playing". The thing starts singing a silly song instead of answering.

Hi mfortini,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Was it working fine before? When did you notice this behavior? Try to reboot your Google Nest Mini device by unplugging its power cord for a minute and then plugging it back in.

Alex

Hi, frankly, I can't remember ever hearing the correct answer from any of my two Nest minis

Tried that, I left it unplugged for a couple hours, plugged it back, same behavior.

In the past I even did a hard reset, no change.

For the records, here's the answer to "what's playing" https://drive.google.com/file/d/13I5dGoSUIMHGjpQa2K4gsFmxNrSPiJAk/view?usp=drive_link

Hi there,

Strange. Do you have other music providers linked to the Google Home app? Are you getting the same behavior if you ask it about what’s playing? How about when playing radio or a news station?

Alex

Hi Alex,

thank you. Same with spotify or tunein.

It happens both with a Nest with voice match disabled and one with voice match enabled.

Best,

Matteo
