Have 4 mini speakers in 4 rooms. Worked great. Went out and got four of the TCL Google TVs (series 5) for each room so could enjoy the smart TV life and have everything in one ecosystem. Bad idea.
Now the TVs respond to me, not the speakers. They lack many of the commands that the speakers have, for example I can't use "broadcast command" with Assistant on these TVs it says "that command isn't available on this device yet". The assistant on the TVs is 10x buggier and slower than the speakers. Etc.
There's no setting on the TVs to disable assistant on them, seems only way is to remove your Google account to disable it, but then it converts to a "dumb TV" and that defeats the purpose.
Checked in the Google Home app, no settings there either to disable assistant on the TVs. Also no settings to prioritize speakers over TV.
At this point the only thing I can think of is to open the TVs up and cut the wires to the microphones. Idk.
Anyone know any solutions?? Can Google add settings? Help!
