4K video playback with kodi laging

Hello Dan_A, i read the locked thread started by airwillow where you ended it with you haven’t received issues of the same kind. I have the exact same issues as airwillow. The only real difference with my set up is that my kodi is vers. 20. I am having all the same issues and I have also tried with a friends nvidia shield without issue. Weather it’s a software issue in the chrome cast or if the hardware just isn’t fast enough I don’t no but it doesn’t work at all with atoms/4k video. All other steaming apps work fun but like airwillos says they aren’t streaming with atmos/4k.

Hi NielsGrill,

 

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your device. Could you please clear the cache and data of the affected app then, uninstall and reinstall it? Rebooting your Chromecast and plugging it on a different TV screen if one is available might also help. 

 

If the issue persists, perform a factory reset. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

Thanks for the responses, sorry I didn’t see them before now.
 
I gave up on the chrome cast, just wanted to let you know that I also had the same issues. I’m using the nvidia shield now and it works so I’ll give the chrome cast to someone who doesn’t use 4k/Dolby atmos where it probably works fine.
