Wifi password not valid?

My Chromecast stopped connecting to the wifi after a power outage. I  am trying to reset it and it still won't connect to wifi stating that my password is not valid. It's the same password I've used for this device previously and works for everything else. Help please

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue reconnecting your Chromecast to your network. Let's sort this out.

 

Quick questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED status on your Chromecast? 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Double-check if you entered your password correctly. Check the box for Show Password under the password box. This step allows you to check exactly what you're typing, so you can be sure it's correct as opposed to only getting black dots after you input the characters.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  3. Reboot your mobile phone.
  4. Reboot your Chromecast.
  5. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  6. Perform another factory reset on your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
