chromecast with TV 4k stuck at 720p

My TV has been working in 4k from a raspberry PI4 and fire TV for a while now but thought I'd get a 4k Google TV stick to blend in with my Google nest's

I've plugged it in to the same HDMI port but I'm not stuck at 720p in YouTube, netflix and prime (as reported by the TV) any ideas?

Hi jonny190,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Kindly check your TV display settings and set the resolution to the highest possible. If there’s an option for auto, that’s much better. You might as well check through Google TV settings > Display and Sound > Resolution (And choose your preference). Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy

Hi Kimmy,

It strikes me as off that 2 other devices in the same HDMI run at 1080 and 4K soni don't think it's a TV setting issue

I can't see a resolution setting under there just scaling

Thanks,

Jonny

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. If the option for the resolution under settings is not available, chances are it may be missing some modules. Kindly check for the latest July patch and update it. If it still persists, try a factory reset. Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Kimy
