So I understand. You updated with a firmware for different device and it works on your 1080?

I'm running the latest. And my 1080 is a USA version but I'm in the UK...on a transformer.

I bit the bullet and factory reset my 1080 and renamed it. When I created the new Google home it saw it. Then I added to room and used the option for my original home. I didn't need to add device...it was recognised in the new home. Hope that works f...
