Assistant won’t open Spotify

When I ask google assistant to play music on Spotify it responds with confirming it will open Spotify and play the song. However, nothing happens. 

I’ve already disconnected and reconnected the Spotify account to google home but this doesn’t solve the issue.

Any ideas?

• Are you using Spotify and the Google Home app with the same account?
• What's the exact voice command you're using?
• Do you have a Spotify Premium subscription?
• Which specific Google Nest device do you have?
